My birth and my first buddings were in a land where deep pine forests meet valleys and lakes carved out by a divine hand. A place where fairy tales begin, whispers at twilight create magic, and time has a slow dancing pace with the circle of seasons. The sleepy hamlet where my childhood house was tucked safely in a valley was named Hemlock and depending on the moment it was a place of poison or a beautiful everlasting tree of life. I was Snow White's Sister and wore Medusa's dress after it went vintage. From a long line of family farmers my feet were rooted to the earth deeply. We had been there for centuries growing harvests in the soil. I was friends with the deer, the butterflies, and birds. I picked violets in Spring and saved Autumn leaves on fire in notebooks of memory year after year. When the snow fell gently in Winter I wrote poetry and painted stories on canvas warm in my room of Victorian antiques and on Summer nights I caught fireflies to light my sleep journeys with after the carnival left town. I wandered the fields an artist, an explorer, a mystic, a tomboy, a ghost, and a black eyeliner girl. I am still all of these things and more.

The pot I was born into became too small and there was not a big enough one to hold me there so I uprooted myself root by root. I replanted my feet in a steel town Cleveland of the Midwest where the river of the city once caught fire and attended art school to explore my creative self. I caught fire there too and grew and grew and spread out like a beautiful voluptuous tree into a woman. I learned to be a painter, a spiritual seeker, and how to kiss a lady after fallng in love with the ministers daughter. I learned about my own true passions and my own uniqueness once hidden by the light and my own strength nailed together like building beams. I had growing pains that left scars which were different from the wounds of my youth. My innocence unraveling like a ball of yarn on Sleeping Beauty's wheel. I wore flannel and lingerie to bed. I wore my Grandmothers dresses with vinyl punk rock boots by day and my leather jacket by night at the blue light bar on the other side of town where I could hold her hand.

After art school I began my dream journey to the city that never sleeps to study art at graduate level. With only a duffel bag of my belongings on a bus I landed in New York City one hot August day ready for a new life after leaving everything I loved in the past behind me on a train through the desert from West to East. I was where I had to be. Where my roots wanted to grow deeper into the island granite. I spent my days as an artist, a dreamer, an eccentric, and a wanderer. I found home in the East Village for a few years and knew what belonging felt like fully for the first time in my life. I spent lots of time in museums and journaling in cafes over hot coffee. I explored the wider boundaries of love and my sexuality. I understood the darkness of the night in the sleepless village and how my body could feel in ways I had not known with a woman. I moved off the island and worked and struggled and laughed and cried and painted and prayed. I found out how painful it was to lose ones girlhood innocence forever and to see things as they really are after falling down Alice's rabbit hole where everything is small and upside down and not as its seems. I spent time healing old wounds and painting over scars. I learned that there were more sides to me dark and light then I ever realized and that I was more then I thought. I made lots of mistakes getting my education in and out of school. I learned to see more clearly how life worked and that nothing lasts forever. We are shapeshifting constantly from one costume to another as time goes on. One identity to another. The theater of life opens its curtains to you with abundance if you are willing to look behind them. Everything is passing by every moment and the moment is where life is at and where beauty is fully present. In the end we are all eternal light older then the stars in the night sky and more amazing then we could ever imagine.

Currently I am studying to be a spiritual counselor, an interfaith minister, and a priestess along with being a fine artist and craftsperson. I am also a lover of burlesque, costumes, the Victorian era, literature, baking, tea parties, and nature.
